I wanted a black character that didn't look like king kong so I ended up gallente but I guess that makes me racist according to forum logic

well Duhh... this is a future game.. there are NO black people in the futere XD XD hehehehe.... did you see any black people in starwars (the old ones) maybe?! NO, they don't exist in the future, so there you got it, minmatar is the closest you get (which is a slave breed)
hahaha...
ohh at least i find it funny :P
Lando Calrissian, friend of Han Solo, and the guy that lost the ship Milenium Falcon in a card game to Solo, was a black dude.
Sorry after all there is room for black people in the future, as there is in the present, and there was in the past.
Star wars took place A LONG TIME AGO IN A GALAXY FAR FAR AWAY
also I would like more skin tones as brutors look like apes
there I said it.

Originally by: Illyrinia besides ethical, and reasons i shall not get into-
why would it matter...
if you are a 'dark' colored fella, is it that hard to play a 'light' fella while flying a internet spaceship, that only have little pictures of people?
Because its the little things that count
besides adding more color tones couldn't be as hard as fixing the lag would be

in cod4, i dont even notice when my guy is 'black'
its just adding some color (no pun intended) to the game is that really a bad thing?

this is a terrible thread and the only reason its still open is because no moderators are awake
i think i added quite a lot to the thread actually but owell
if you want to have a serious debate about race the eve online forums are not the place to do it
I am not debating race I am like the op asking for some more skin color

Originally by: Carcusian This is one the most rediculous threads I've ever seen. If you can't find an avatar to suit your tastes in this online-roleplaying-internet-spaceship-game, you're not trying hard enough.
My toon is a black priest from Africa. Even though I'm not black in RL. I specifically designed him as such.
This discussion fails bc the OP is trying to force some RL racial garbage on a game whose premise is different fictional races surviving from a catastrophic worm-hole collapse in some distant future, "far, far away..." Not to mention clearly you can design differnt racial attributes if you design it so.
Playing games means suspension of disbelief, not to mention suspension of your own ethical nature. You pay money to play a game whose plot is based on what the devs say it hinges on. If you don't like it you can always not play this game whose fiction doesn't suit your own, personal tastes in games, tbfh.
You kow, YOUR toon shows up as a question mark. And now I'm po'd bc i don't think other punctuation marks are being treating equally. I do it protest.
You see my point? or are you blinded by metaracial prejudice?
But is adding more skin tones that difficult?

Originally by: Dimitrius Zabelle The answer is ambulation. Since we're getting a completely new and changed character creation system anyway (and you will have to re-create your character's portrait in it) then there is no point in asking for anything to be added to the existing system right now anyway.
And this thread is getting REALLY quite racist now..
There is always a point in asking if it isn't there and you want it
